To promote and enhance learning process between the stakeholders in the governance of coastal and marine resource in Indonesia, as a way of improving their capacity to adapt to changing social, economic and ecological conditions.

Helping to bridge independent research by universities / CSOs with policy makers (facilitating links, policy briefing), to build capacity of government research agencies in better serving the needs of policy makers (research design, communication)
Governance of coastal and marine resources, better integrating local and national institutional structures. Use of local and scientific knowledge to improve policy and programs, so that these better serve the needs of marginalized fishers.
There are three areas of our short term activities:
To produce and deliver policy lessons by drawing from both scientific and non-scientific (i.e. local/traditional/customary) knowledge domains of information to mainstream local-level issues into the Indonesian government’s higher-level policies.
To develop knowledge portal (by means of e-repository and transfer) for a database of (but not limited to) existing laws, policies, institutions, research papers, guidelines, tools related or applicable to marine governance in Indonesia.
To facilitate and to coordinate platforms for dialogue mainly by establishing working groups and/or conducting outreach for stakeholders.
